You might want to take a look at Geoff Hacker's site at www.forgottenfiberglass.com. His focus is on glass cars of the Fifties. Although his focus is pretty much U.S. based, he is also looking specifically at Singer based glass cars - there were actually quite a few in the States.
hello from a milano and italia owner. Yes your car is an Italia. If you still have the car and you want further info send me a email at luter@optusnet.com.au regards Mark

JWF Italia Singer based coupe for sale on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.com.au/JWF-ITALIA-CLASSIC-AUSTRALIAN-HOLDEN-SPORTS-CAR-SINGER-/320563788549?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Cars&hash=item4aa3173b05 . Needs a lot of work. Gives you some idea of the company you are keeping.
Definitely an Italia. I bought a roadster body from JWF in about 1964, had it shipped to Adelaide and fitted it to a 1951 Morgan +4 - much to the horror of Morgan fans now I guess. It had Standard 10 front suspension grafted on, but otherwise normal Morgan running gear. Sold it in about '69 and not seen since
g'day rogerafn it's great to here from someone who bought one new .we were thinking when was it made?? maybe late 60's your most helpful ,early 60's the morgan fans should over the moon to have this great looking car in there club and the +4 looks fantastic also . it would be great to find what happend to your italia even if it's still with us or just resting in someone's shed . thanks for your comments cheers reid
Do you have the SA rego number? We may be able to track it that way.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a British Ashley sports car, definately not a JWF that I've seen before (though not an expert).
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Duane
On second inspection, it DOES look exactly like a JWF Italia...and an Ashley...I wonder if one supplied the moulds for the other?
